Rejection Letter #1

I was pleased to see your e-mail in my inbox this morning indicating your interest in this position. In the time since I sent you the original call for expression, I researched this position a bit more to find out exactly the kind of candidate they're looking for. As it turns out, they're not only looking for someone with expertise in immigration (or insert whatever expertise she has), but also with strong operational experience in border security issues (or insert whatever experience she is lacking). However, I would like to thank you though, for getting back to me so quickly, as your interest allowed us to make a more informed selection by providing us with a larger pool of expertise from which to draw. It was also great to connect again and update your file. I'll be sure to get in touch with you right away if any government or international agencies express a need for someone with your skills-set and experience.

Call for Expression #2

Greetings from what has turned out to be an exceptionally rainy day in Ottawa! I trust are keeping well and are not too busy.

UNOPS is seeking an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Advisor for Somalia. UNOPS has an excellent reputation for being at the forefront of this kind of work and this is an exciting chance to work with them. People with your kind of expertise are in high demand these days, so it would be great if you put your name forward for this one.

If you're interested and available, please get back to me by November 25 and I'll forward your name. We should have your résumé and P11 on file so there's no need to send additional copies. However, if you've gained any new experience or training, an updated résumé will add additional weight to your application.

I hope you're keeping well. Summer is officially over in Canada and things are beginning to pick up again, as they always do it this time of year.
